Several weeks ago I attended a training session on how to care for those who are grieving. The training leader emphasized the importance of helping the individual who has suffered loss move from the mourning process (internal feelings) to the grieving process (expressing their feelings of loss). As I looked around the room it became obvious that a large number of those attending were themselves dealing with grief. It is much more present in the lives of those around us than we suspect.
