A Wedding Anniversary Pain In The Back

Four years ago, on the tenth anniversary of wedding my dear wife, I had back surgery. The surgeon told me that within six months I would be back to normal and out on the golf course. The reality was that my recovery wasn’t so pleasant. Had it not been for the fact that we moved into a house with a Jacuzzi bath it would have been even worse.

Four years later I have recovered from my back surgery and I find myself longing not for a relief from pain but for the Jacuzzi bath that I grew to love during rehabilitation. When we purchased our new house it was complete before we were able to change any of the specs so we were not able to request a whirlpool bath. We talked with the contractor about changing it out, but decided to wait until we had been in the house for a few years. It has now been a few years and I’m still thinking about marathon long, scalding hot whirlpool baths. Maybe it’s time to do something about it.

Bathroom Suites are one of those things that add value to your home, so it really wouldn’t be an expense, it would be an investment (at least that is what I keep telling my wife). If you are in a similar situation Better Bathrooms offers a complete line of bathroom suites, whirlpool baths, toilets, bathroom taps and more. Check them out.

Mortgage ’08

This is the season to see campaign signs in neighborhood yards. The Republicans have settled on their candidate and it appears that the Democrats will do so very soon. So today I did a quick survey to see what campaign signs were up in front yard of houses near us. Here is a sampling; Century 21, Re/Max, Ebby Halliday, Coldwell Banker, & Prudential Texas Properties.

Yes, people are more concerned about their personal campaign to sell their homes than they are about the presidential election.

And, mortgage rates have dropped as low as at any time that I can remember in my lifetime.

Lower house prices and lower mortgage rates should move more buyers into the market. The housing market has to make a turn-around at some point. At least, as a seller, I certainly hope that is true — me and about 40 bjillion of my neighbors.
