Finnish educational theory seems to be almost opposite of that in the United States. Children start school at an older age, not younger. Students spend more time playing, not working. Students spend less time doing homework, not more. Yet, Finnish students far surpass their American peers. Should we reassess our educational theory? Is there a relationships between the approaches taken by Finnish educators and American homeschoolers?
