Taking the kids to Morey’s Piers

All amusement parks are not created equal — that is, they are not equally amusing.

There is something special about an amusement park that is sea-side (is sea-side a word?).  The beach, the boardwalk, the smell of the ocean…  ah, very nice.

It has been awhile since we lived close enough to New Jersey (or Delaware, or Maryland) to hit the beach and the amusement parks with the kids, and I would love to do so.  Maybe next Spring?

Perhaps the best oceanside (I know that is a word) amusement parks for a family beach vacation is Morey’s Piers in New Jersey. Located on the boardwalk in Wildwood, New Jersey, next to historic Cape May, New Jersey, and not far from both Ocean City and Atlantic City, Morey’s Piers offers more than one hundred exciting amusement park rides and attractions, including two large beachfront waterparks, kiddie rides, roller coasters and … The Sea Serpent, The Maelstrom, Can Am Raceway, Climbing Wall, Jack in the Box, Pink Elephants, Seal Flume, Airplanes, Convoy, Kiddie Boats, Kiddie Swings, Balloon Race, Crazy Bus, Paddle Boats, Henekee, Mini Scooters, Wave Swinger, Sunny’s Lookout Lighthouse, Mariner’s Arcade, The Giant Wheel, Pirates of the Wildwoods, Moby Dick, Sky Cycle, Rollie’s Coaster, Sky Ships, Carousel, Tea Cups, Kite Flyer, Musik Express, Sea Dragon, Super Scooters, Waltzer, Seaport Mini Golf, Formula One Raceway, Sky Coaster, SkyScraper, Fly The Great Nor’Easter, AtmosFEAR!, Baby Venice, Cycles, Howitzer, Mini Scooters, Mini Tea Cups, Shark Bite, Kiddie Train, Jump Around!, For the kid in all of us!, Balloon Race, Carousel, Condor, Dante’s Dungeon, Demolition Derby, Flitzer, Giant Slide, Cygnus X-1, Rock and Roll, Rockin’ Tug, Space Maze, Super Scooters, Tilt-A-Whirl, Zoom Phloom, Doo Wopper, Wacky Whip, Magic Bikes, The Great White, Screamin’ Swing, The Inverter, SkyCoaster, The Spring Shot, Grand Prix Raceway, High Flyer, Climbing Wall, Mini Scrambler, Snake Slide, Apache Helicopters, Chamber of Checkers, Jersey Junkyard, Carousel, Curse of the Mummy, Sky Ride, Tilt-a-Whirl, Tornado.

Sounds like fun, doesn’t it.

Check out their website for information about Morey’s Piers specials and other New Jersey attractions. http://www.moreyspiers.com/magicalmondays.html is also the place to find hotels & motels in Wildwood and the Morey’s Piers vacinity. See you are Morey’s Piers.

Parking Space Economics 101

I’m not all that old, but the average car now costs more than what I paid for my first house. I can deal with that. But, I am flummoxed by the fact that in large metropolitan areas people are paying more for parking places than I paid for my first house. (Let’s hope that in a few years from now I’m not writing a blog post about how a tankful of gasoline for my automobile costs more than I paid for my first house.)

Anyone who has lived or worked in a locale dense with commuters understands the difficulty of finding parking and paying for it. It’s simply a matter of supply and demand. The demand is greater than the supply, hence the difficulty in finding it. And, since the demand is greater than the supply, the prices rise until the demand levels off. It is basic economics. However, understanding the situation doesn’t help you resolve your need to locate parking at a reasonable price.

If you are one of those seeking London Parking for Rent you may be just about ready to throw your hands in the air and give up. Before you trade your vehicle in for a few sessions with a shrink, check out Park Let. They currently have more than 11,000 parking spaces and garage rentals available for rent in London, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, and other UK towns and cities. They just might be able to get you into a spot that will cost you less than you paid for your first house.
