Benjamin Disraeli – select quotes

Every woman should marry, and no man.
~ in Lothair

Action may not always bring happiness; but there is no happiness without action.

Circumstances are beyond the control of man; but his conduct is in his own power.

I must follow the people. Am I not their leader?

Little things affect little minds.

Never apologize for showing feeling. When you do so, you apologize for the truth.

Never complain and never explain.

Patience is a necessary ingredient of genius.

The secret of success is constancy of purpose.

There are three kinds of lies; lies, damned lies, and statistics.

Through perseverance many people win success out of what seemed destined to be certain failure.

To be conscious that you are ignorant of the facts is a great step to knowledge.

We all of us live too much in a circle.

We are all born for love. It is the principle of existence, and its only end.

When men are pure, laws are useless; when men are corrupt, laws are broken.

Driving & Parking In London

I hadn’t a clue as to what I was getting myself into when I rented a car and headed toward London. It was really a last minute trip. I was in the United States Air Force and stationed at the Naval Air Base in Iceland. Each week some of our KC-135 refueling airplanes would fly off to the RAF Fairford Air Base in England. Rather spontaneously I found someone to be responsible for my duties, received leave, and jumped a hop on one of the outgoing KC-135s.

When I landed in England I was able to get reservations for a hotel room in London and grab a rental car. I checked the map and headed toward London where I quickly became snarled in the worst traffic I have ever been in, before or since. My blood pressure rises into the danger zone just thinking about the honking taxis and double decker buses. Traffic in London was scarier than any horror movie I have ever seen. Cars were swarming like African Killer Bees.

Where there are that many cars there is a need for parking and Garages in London. Park Let is the largest supplier of monthly contract parking to individuals and businesses throughout the UK. They are an important resource in the marketplace for parking spaces and garages for rent in London, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, and all other UK towns and cities. If you need a space they can help you find it. If you have a spare parking space in your driveway they can help you let it. If you no longer need a spot, they can help you sell it. Check them out.

William Ewart Gladstone – Select Quotes

William Gladstone

The book must of necessity be put into a bookcase. And the bookcase must be housed. And the house must be kept. And the library must be dusted, must be arranged, must be catalogued. What a vista of toil, yet not unhappy toil!

The disease of an evil conscience is beyond the practice of all the physicians of all countries in the world.

No more cunning plot was ever devised against the intelligence, the freedom, the happiness, and the virtue of mankind, than Catholicism.
