We finally got around to taking the family to see the new Indiana Jones movie. It was in many ways what I was expecting. There was the cast of characters with whom we were familiar, chase scenes, critters to make you squirm (like the previous snakes and rats and roaches), exotic locations, humor, and the sense that you are engaging in entertainment that is not as mindless as most.
But there were some things that were NOT what I was expecting. Previous episodes were written in the vein of what you might hear from callers into Michael Medved’s radio talk show when he hosts his weekly Conspiracy Day. However, this movie was written more along the lines of what you would expect to hear from a guest on Art Bell’s George Noory’s Coast To Coast A.M.
I won’t say more lest I give away to much information for those who have not yet seen the movie. Do see it. It is fun, and enjoyable. Don’t go expecting Christian values, which means you have to turn on the worldview filters in your brain and think about what you are witnessing. But it should provide plenty of fodder for critical discussions afterward in which you can explore the ideas in relation to what the Scriptures say.
